Apple Black Friday: Cheap iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, Apple Watch, AirPods

Retailers leaks some of this year's best discounts.

Barring a huge surprise, Apple has put the final touches on this year’s product line up with the recent announcement of the iPad Pro, 13-inch MacBook Air, and Mac mini. From its new smartphones — the XS and XS Max — to the new MacBook Pro models, Apple consumers will have even more fresh tech to choose from than last year.

Currently, most of this tech carries some eye-watering price tags, particularly the new 12.9-inch iPad Pros that can run you up to $1,900 if you want it with one 1TB of memory and cellular support. With Black Friday and Cyber Monday around the corner, you may find yourself wondering whether there’s a better way to give your wilting old Apple products an upgrade.

Luckily, while Apple doesn’t normally mark down any of its new products, many retailers will be offering deals on some of the company’s older lines, including products that aren’t even that old, like the Apple Watch Series 3 and the AirPods. BestBlackFriday has already leaked some of the expected discounts from Macy’s, Target, and many other stores. Here’s what we think are going to be the likeliest Apple targets for Black Friday markdowns.

Apple Black Friday: 9.7-inch iPad with 32GB of Storage $250

Apple launched the 9.7-inch iPad in March and geared it toward students and educators by adding Apple Pencil Support and giving schools a discount. The tablet starts at $329 on the Apple, but Costco is expected to drop its price down to $250.

Specs-wise, this iPad packs the A10 Fusion Chip, an 8-megapixel rear camera, Touch ID, 10-hours of battery life, and stereo speakers. Sure, it won’t let you render 4K video like the new iPad Pros, but it’ll stream content just fine and definitely get the job done as far as a tool for note-taking and internet browsing.

Apple Black Friday: 38mm Apple Watch Series 3 with GPS for $199

The Apple Watch Series 4 made waves with its new pulse-tracking and fall-detection features, but with a $400 price tag, it could be out of many shopper’s price range. Luckily, Target will offer the Series 3 with only GPS support for $199 and the cellular model for $299.

Apple sells the GPS model for $279 and the cellular version for $379. These don’t come with the Series 4’s electrocardiogram monitor or fall-detection, but will perfectly complement any iPhone if you’re looking to start tracking your fitness for the low.

Apple Black Friday: AirPods for $129

Consumers can’t get enough of Apple’s AirPods, even though they were launched two years ago. The Bluetooth earbuds were Best Buy’s best-selling item in October and with Sam’s Club expected to sell them for $129 they’ll likely continue killing the consumer tech game.

Apple prices the AirPods at $159 and there are reliable rumors that the AirPods 2 will arrive in 2019. But if you can’t wait until then, it shouldn’t be too hard this year to pick them up at a discount.

This year's iPhones might be stunning, but with astronomical price tags the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus might be the go-to budget-friendly Apple phones this year.

Apple Black Friday: iPhone 8 and 8 Plus

The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus might be last year’s tech, but their newly lowered price might make them a hit this year. The 64GB models of the smartphones start at $599 and $699 respectively, compared to this year’s $749, “budget” iPhone XR.

A recent report stated that Apple has ordered an extra 5 million units of the 8 and 8 Plus, suggesting that consumers are craving low-cost iPhones. For all the notch-haters, this is the definitely the budget-friendly move come holidays.

Apple Black Friday: 13-inch MacBook Pro with 128GB of Storage for $1,299

Apple’s 2018 MacBook Pros flaunt some pretty impressive specs and sky-high prices but rolled out with some serious throttling issues. If you want comparable power for a cheaper price look to last year’s 13-inch MacBook Pro with 128GB of storage selling for $1,299.

It doesn’t come with a touch bar or an Intel Core i9 processor option, but it’ll be more than powerful enough handling browsing, office tasks, and editing photo and video.
