The Tesla Model 3 is maybe the most anticipated electric car in history. Its Autopilot self-driving system promises to only improve, thanks to software updates to the hardware, and at $35,000 — which is before the $7,500 federal tax credit and any state credit — it won’t break the bank, which explains an estimated 400,000 preorders. The carmaker expects to start producing the Model 3 in mid 2017 with estimates for its public debut coming in during 2018 sometime.
