'Super Smash Bros. Switch' Roster: Every Character Announced So Far
Nintendo is adding a bunch of new fighters to the iconic roster.
After months of speculation, we finally know who’s joining the roster of characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for Switch, and it turns out it’s literally every playable character who has ever appeared in any game, including DLC. That’s right, even Pichu.
The lengthy reveal came during Nintendo’s presentation at E3 on Tuesday, and Smash Bros’ head honcho Masahiro Sakurai revealed that every old character would return, which is a ton of characters. Notable returning characters include Solid Snake, the Ice Climbers, Young Link, and Pichu.
Only a couple new characters were revealed, and it’s unclear how many new characters will join the already huge roster by the time the game comes out on December 7, 2018. The previously revealed Inklings from Splatoon are new, as is the Metroid villain Ridley. Princess Daisy from the Super Mario series is also joining the fight, but she’s an “echo character,” a new category of fighter that includes characters who play especially similar to one another, including Dark Pit and Lucina.
