'Future Man' Season 2 Release Time on Hulu: Here's What You Can Watch

Future Man is finally returning to Hulu on January 11 (tomorrow!), and we’re getting ready to head back to the future in Season 2. While Season 1 offered a creative take on time travel sci-fi tropes made popular by movies like The Terminator, the show’s sophomore outing reveals a vision of the future that feels more like Mad Max. But what time is Future Man Season 2 releasing on Hulu? Here’s what you need to know so you can start binging the series as soon as possible — or at least before the Biotics kill us all.

What Time is Future Man Season 2 Released on Hulu?

Unlike Netflix, which releases new shows and movies at 3 a.m. Eastern time (midnight in California where the company is based), Hulu takes pity on East coasters with a typical 12 a.m. Eastern release time. So if you’re hoping to catch the first few episodes (or binge the entire thing) on Thursday night you’re in luck, and if you’re on Pacific time you won’t even have to stay up late to do it.

What Do I Need to Remember From Season 1?

Not much. I had a chance to check out Season 2 ahead of time and it tells a mostly original story while still using the characters from Season 1. This time, instead of traveling back in time to stop an apocalypse, our heroes travel forward in time only to discover a new version of the future.

The basic premise is that everything that was accomplished in Season 1 only changed the future into something worse. There are still Biotics but now they’re called Biotechs, and humans may no longer be living underground, but they’re still struggling to get by in a new feudalist society called The NAG (New Above Ground).

In short, nothing that happened in Season 1 matters that much because the show’s creators are using the same core cast to tell a totally different type of sci-fi story. As for that cast, we still follow Josh Futterman (Josh Hutcherson), a hapless hero from out our time, along with Tiger (Eliza Coupe) and Wolf (Derek Wilson), two highly trained soldiers from the future. Dr. Stu Camillo ( Haley Joel Osment) plays a major role in this season as well after having a relatively minor part in Season 2.

So no, you don’t really need to remember what happened in Season 1 to enjoy Future Man Season 2, but you’ve still got about 10 hours to kill before Hulu releases the new episodes so why not rewatch some old ones while you wait?
