'Fortnite' Carnival Clown Board Locations: Map and Video Guide for Week 9

Week 9 isn't the time to clown around.

The latest target-based Challenge in the world of Fortnite: Battle Royale takes a clownish spin.

Fortnite Week 9 Challenges rolled out on Thursday morning, Thanksgiving Day, in America. Many of them are straightforward, focusing on rocket or grenade launcher eliminations or even dealing damage to enemy structures with the new Dynamite. But the only location-based Challenge on the board this week is “Get a score of 10 or more on different Carnival Clown Boards” three times.

The Carnival Clown Boards have been around for a while now, but they’ve only just become part of a Challenge. They come with the same kind of scoreboard we’ve seen with the Shooting Range Gallery Challenge and the Clay Pigeon Shooters, and they function in a similar fashion. But unlike with those other kinds of target practice, the best way to complete this Challenge is with the pickaxe.

Each Carnival Clown Board has about 10 holes in it. Balloons will randomly inflate, filling into one or more of the holes. Players need to pop at least 10 balloons in a single go at three different locations. So far, it looks like there are five possible locations.

The Carnival comes to 'Fortnite: Battle Royale'

Epic Games
  • Directly east of Junk Junction
  • Southwest corner of Pleasant Park
  • On the coastline east of Flush Factory and west of Lucky Landing
  • Northwest of Paradise Palms just west of where the desert ends
  • South of the plateau that’s southwest of Lonely Lodge

The hardest part of this Challenge is interruption from enemy players. Actually popping 10 balloons takes a considerable amount of time, so it’s that much more likely for enemies to attack. As such, the Pleasant Park location might be the worst one to try because it has more foot traffic than other locations. Thankfully, players only need to score 10 on three different locations.

Currently the in-game countdown says that Fortnite: Battle Royale Season 6 ends on Wednesday, December 5, so there’s only so much time left to complete Challenges like this one before Season 7 starts later that week.
