'Iron Fist' Season 2 Post-Credits Is a Surprise 'Daredevil' Season 3 Teaser

When the final credits run on Marvel’s Iron Fist Season 2 don’t hit that Netflix skip button. An old friend awaits in the post-credits tag, as Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) returns as Daredevil in a teaser for Season 3 of the Marvel/Netflix series that started it all.

No spoilers for Iron Fist Season 2 ahead.

After the credits roll for Iron Fist Season 2, a small scene features Matt Murdock, bruised, bloodied, and in his old Frank Miller-style black costume.

“I once believed that justice could be found in a court of law, and in the light of day,” he says in a Catholic church confessional booth on a dark and stormy night. “But I was fooling myself. Darkness only responds to darkness. And the truth is, I would rather die as the Devil than live as Matt Murdock.”

Okay Matthew, that’s enough Evanescence on Spotify for you.

Jokes aside, the short scene confirms several things fans have speculated about Daredevil Season 3, which does not have an official premiere date. At the end of The Defenders, Matt Murdock laid bruised and beaten in a Catholic convent, with a nun calling for “Maggie.” These bits hint that Season 3 will lift elements from the 1986 story arc Born Again, written by Frank Miller and widely considered one of the best Daredevil comics of all time.

Miss this look? Matt Murdock is going retro in 'Daredevil' Season 3. Still photo from 'Daredevil' Season 1.

And in a literal sense, it looks like Daredevil will be “born again,” with the re-adoption of his gritty black costume rather that that slick red suit.

Marvel’s Iron Fist Season 2 is streaming now. Daredevil Season 3 does not have a release date.
