'Fortnite' Risky Reels Treasure Map: Where to Find the Season 5 Battle Star

New season, same old 'Fortnite'.

The new Season 5 of Fortnite: Battle Royale is back to the same old Challenges, and in Week 1, players have to “Follow the treasure map found in Risky Reels.”

Season 5 kicked off in Fortnite Thursday morning at 4 a.m. Eastern, and with it came the first week of mostly familiar-looking Challenges. There’s nothing new about this treasure map Challenge format: A treasure map hidden somewhere in Risky Reels details a specific location, but if players already know that location, then they can land directly there to complete the challenge.

Veteran players will no doubt recognize the location on the treasure map itself as the tunnel that runs north-south just south of Tomato Town, in the northeast quadrant of the map. The Battle Star is located on the northernmost ledge directly above the tunnel opening. One option is to land in Tomato Town to get proper bearings and then take the stairs up and around, but the best option is to land directly on the location and grab it immediately. Even at that, players will probably get killed very quickly by enemies.

Epic Games

For a different perspective, here’s that location as viewed from Tomato Town itself (don’t mind that rude guy hacking me in the face with his pickaxe while I tried to take this picture):

To complete this Challenge, land on the ledge right around where the red circle is.

Epic Games.

There’s another Challenge in Week 1 requiring players to eliminate opponents in Retail Row, another named location southeast of Tomato Town. Should you survive the dive straight to the Battle Star, doing a bit of looting and then heading directly there is a good use of time. Other Challenges require SMG damage, looting a Llama, and getting eliminations with Clingers, Stink Bombs, or Grenades.

You’ll have until the end of Season 5, on or around September 27, to complete these many Challenges, but it’s always good to get a head start.
