New 'Punisher' Trailer Confirms November Release

Frank Castle is on his way. A new trailer for Marvel’s The Punisher which debuted on Thursday morning finally confirms what fans have been waiting for: a release date. On November 17, The Punisher will explode onto Netflix for your binging pleasure. Happy Thanksgiving.

The newest trailer for The Punisher, starring Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead) reveals Frank Castle’s rewritten origin story as a trained soldier forced to engage in a mission he didn’t agree with. The price: His family, killed by the very establishment he swore an oath to.

While Marvel fans witnessed Frank Castle become the Punisher in Daredevil Season 2, it’s in The Punisher where Frank Castle confronts the evil that created him. Teaming up with his pal from the comics, Microchip, Castle suits up and wages a one-man war in the battleground of Hell’s Kitchen.

Marvel fans will also be pleased to see Karen Paige (Deborah Ann Woll), the paralegal turned hard-hitting journalist who finds herself in the crossfire between Frank and his enemies. Should fans be worried for Karen?

The Punisher has already caused a bit of controversy. There was originally supposed to be a big panel about the show at New York Comic Con — and that panel presumably would’ve revealed a lot more about the mystery release date. But, the panel was canceled and any surprise release, if there ever was going to be one, was postponed in the wake of the Las Vegas mass shooting.

Marvel’s The Punisher will premiere November 17 on Netflix.
