The ‘Robot Chicken’ ‘Walking Dead’ Parody Premieres in October

Adult Swim's latest looks especially raunchy.

The zombie virus spreads fast, so really it’s no surprise that the undead plague from AMC’s The Walking Dead are headed to another channel. Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken will be airing a full-episode of Walking Dead parodies featuring a ton of the original cast in mid-October.

Adult Swim shared a trailer for the episode back in July at San Diego Comic Con, but the network confirmed the October 8 premiere date on Thursday. The episode is really a collaboration, as the creators of stop-motion spoof show, Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, are partnering with some of the folks behind TWD. Original comic creator and showrunner Robert Kirkman and executive producer Scott M. Gimple each have a hand in the half-hour episode.

Robot Chicken has done full-episode parodies before, most notably its trio of Star Wars episodes, which truly deserve to be classics among Star Wars fans. The SDCC trailer for The Walking Dead episode, which is amazingly titled “The Robot Chicken Walking Dead Special: Look Who’s Walking,” teases all sorts of outlandish gags. Highlights include beef between Negan and Snoopy of Peanuts fame, Carol re-enacting Of Mice and Men, and a possible sex act with a unicorn. Show’s wild, y’all.

Several Walking Dead cast members are lending their voices to their action figure likenesses, including Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Lauren Cohan, Steven Yeun, Sarah Wayne Callies. Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick is also part of the episode because of course he is.

“The Robot Chicken Walking Dead Special: Look Who’s Walking” will premiere on October 8 at midnight Eastern.
