Everybody Loves Lawyer Morty From the ‘Rick and Morty’ Premiere

"Look at him go!"

The members of the Council of Ricks aren’t the only ones who want to keep Lawyer Morty around “because he’s fun.” The internet’s taken a keen liking to a Morty that’s dolled-up to look like a lawyer in the Season 3 premiere, “The Rickshank Redemption.” Though he’s featured in only one brief scene and later glimpsed when the proverbial shit hits the fan, everybody loves everything he’s about, which definitely has absolutely nothing to do with practicing the law.

A Morty once played a fake judge in the dramatization of The State of Georgia v. Denver Fenton Allen court case, but now he’s got gelled hair, an unkempt suit, and a disheveled stack of papers as Lawyer Morty. He’s just sort of there to entertain the Council of Ricks during Summer and Morty’s trial, and he whispers in Morty’s ear about showing off his Pog collection. Later, when Rick C-137 teleports the entire Citadel of Ricks into the Galactic Prison, we get a glimpse of Lawyer Morty calling for “order in the court” before freaking out and running away:

"Ohh what the hell!? Oh my god!"

People are really loving the little guy, with many of them latching onto the random callback to Pogs, of all things:

Morty C-137 does not.

Seriously, Lawyer Morty is just looking for friends to entertain:

Nelson will totally check out your Pogs, Lawyer Morty

We really just want to see the Better Call Saul rip-off:

He can get you out of anything.

Some redditors are even pointing out that his voice and dance are just like that of Mr. Poopybutthole, which might just be because the characters are both voiced by co-creator Justin Roiland:

Here’s to hoping that Lawyer Morty might make a triumphant return to the courtroom sometime in the rest of Season 3, but get ready for Pickle Rick first when the show returns this summer.
