Maybe egg hatching won't suck so much now.

Part of the problem with Pokémon GO is that you have to keep your phone in your hand at all times. But what if there were an easier way — something even better than the Pokémon GO Plus wearable? Oh yeah, there is: Pokémon GO is coming to the Apple Watch, and it’s coming soon.

The wildly popular app has been in the works for Apple watch since it first debuted in August, but today, the official Pokémon GO Twitter feed let everyone in on the news that the update is coming. Honestly, it’s not a moment too soon. Pokémon GO released a major update on Monday, releasing several Generation 2 Pokémon into the game — but only inside tedious-to-hatch eggs. The update was disappointing for a lot of users who had hoped that the app would take some proactive steps to get better.

Releasing the app on Apple Watch might not fundamentally change the gameplay, but it might make hatching eggs much easier for watch owners, who could possibly keep the app running on their watch while walking, instead of having to be glued to their phone. If all else fails, Nintendo has a backup plan: Super Mario Run is now out, and so far, it’s way more fun than the same old gym battles.
