Breaking Down the New 'Batman v. Superman Dawn of Justice' Teaser Spots

Bruce Wayne meets Clark Kent, then tries to run him over.

Warner Bros.

There are already two full-length trailers for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, DC’s blockbuster bro-down featuring the brand’s varsity superheroes Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman releasing March 25th. But over the weekend during the NFL playoffs, Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder’s Twitter unleashed two more teasers.

There’s nothing entirely new to unpack, but they do give an extended look at the awkward first meeting between Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent and a weird, kind of hilarious attempt by Batman to sideswipe Superman.

I’m actually excited for Dawn of Justice, but can they cut a decent teaser for this thing? Ben Affleck’s goofy face when he says, “You will” has me giggling instead of fist-pumping with excitement.

Later, the movie’s Facebook page posted another spot featuring the tension-filled first meeting between Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent. And Lex Luthor.

Comic book fans have criticized Jesse Eisenberg’s casting as the fear-mongering billionaire Lex Luthor for portraying him in a very drastic, very modern fashion. But Zack Snyder has said there’s more to the new Luthor than what the trailers show. “[H]e’s like a million times more sophisticated than what you get in 30 seconds,” Snyder told MTV. “But that’s also the fun of it. That’s why you go to the movies, so you can actually see the context and understand the depth.”

We’ll see that context and depth soon enough when Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is released March 25.
