'Fortnite': Where to Spray a Fountain, Junkyard Crane, and Vending Machine
What happened to dancing?
The radical changes to challenges in Fortnite: Battle Royale Season X are getting a bit more fun in Week 2’s “Spray & Play” mission of seven challenges that involve spray-prainting different objects. They were just unlocked Thursday morning, and the second has players “Spray a Fountain, a Junkyard Crane, and a Vending Machine.”
In execution, this challenge is really no different than most of your usual “dance in/on/near this random landmark” challenges except with spray emotes instead. However, there’s the added element of various choices. There are two fountains, two cranes, and a huge number of possible vending machine spawn points. Rather than many players flocking to a singular location, there’s a bit more variety here, which is welcome — even if the two cranes are in Junk Junction and the two fountains are in Mega Mall.
The different parts of this challenge can be done across any number of matches, and while it’s not impossible to do them all in one go, it seems very unlikely. Just be sure to equip at least one kind of spray in your locker before hopping in the battle bus.
Here’s how to find a fountain, a junkyard crane, and a vending machine.
The only two known fountains are both located in Mega Mall.
Where to Find Fountains in Fortnite
There are two fountains in Mega Mall on the central eastern side of the map. One of them is in the open southern courtyard, and the other is inside the massive Pizza Pit, just west of the giant Tomato Head hologram. Because that one is indoors, you’re less likely to be spotted by enemies, and there are more places to quickly hide after spray-painting the fountain.
There aren’t any vending machines in or around Mega Mall, but the best thing players can do is head directly northwest. Just east of Dusty Depot, you might be able to find a Driftboard that can help you reach some of the other destinations.

Where to Find Junkyard Cranes in Fortnite
You can find a Junkyard Cranes in Junk Junction, the map’s only junkyard! There’s one right outside the entrance on the southern side. The other option is just west of the center building.
You can land directly there to spray the crane, or you can opt to land some place nearby to get the vending machine spray job squared away — like one that’s immediately south of the Block. See below for specific vending machine locations, but also note that there’s a Driftboard or two available at the grasslands race track just east of Junk Junction.

Where to Find Vending Machines in Fortnite
This step is a bit surprising and unlike the usual Fortnite challenges. All of the potential vending machine spawn locations are fixed, but there’s no guarantee that a vending machine will spawn in any given match. And if someone uses it, it’ll disappear. You’re better off selecting a cluster of spawn points and landing directly there at the start of the match. In the video at the top of this article, you can see it’s possible to land directly south of the Block, spray the vending machine there, run to the grasslands race track to grab a Driftboard, and then continue on to spray the junkyard crane outside of Junk Junction.
