'Legacies' Landon: What Is He? and Could He Be More Powerful Than Hope?
Everyone wants to know what Landon is on Legacies — Alaric, Hope, the show’s fans, maybe even Landon himself. After all, we don’t know how much Landon knows and just isn’t saying and how much he truly doesn’t know. Until the big reveal comes on the CW series, all we can do is speculate, and that speculation also includes just how strong he might be compared to characters we already know.
Light spoilers for Legacies Season 1 Episode 5 below.
“Determined to find out more about Landon’s post, Hope does a series of magical tests on him,” the CW teases in the description of the next episode, “Malivore.”
However, as the promo (above) shows, nothing seems to come from those tests.
But is that because he doesn’t have any powers or could they just be lying dormant for now? It’s possible we could see Landon do something supernatural, not when Hope’s testing him but when he’s attacked by another student.

Redditor u/luvmy374 suggests the possibility that Landon is “equally powerful or more powerful” than Hope and even brings up a connection to the mysterious knife several creatures have been after.
“The only thing I can think of that would be this would be Angelic type of being,” they write. “That’s why the knife called to him. To protect the world.”
So is Landon some sort of angel?
Redditor u/Glarinetta agrees with that theory, adding, “my guess is that Landon could be more than equal to Hope once his supernatural side fully awakens from its nap.”
However, one fan is hoping that the opposite is true.
“Hope already being as powerful as she is can easily become a narrative problem,” redditor u/ursulazsenya writes. “The last thing the show needs is another SuperUnicorn. IMO, the best option for Landon is to be an unthreatening type of supernatural like a doppelganger. Something that is magical, but with no innate powers of his own.”
That would explain why we haven’t seen Landon display any supernatural abilities and it looks like he won’t during Hope’s tests in *Legacies Episode 5.
Legacies is off this week, but it returns next at 9 p.m. on The CW.
