Previous reports from across the internet were conflicting when it came to the Fortnite: Battle Royale Season 5, Week 2 Challenge that sends players searching “between an oasis, rock archway, and dinosaurs.” But we’ve got the exact location that’ll get readers a quick and easy 10 Battle Stars.
Week 2 rolled out later than usual, landing on Thursday morning at around 9:30 a.m. Eastern, and plenty of players immediately headed to the very top of a mountain in Paradise Palms hoping to search between the oasis, rock archway, and dinosaurs. But many predictions were slightly inaccurate. Rather than being located on the very top of this mountain, this location is on a lower ledge just northeast of that summit, in the direction of Paradise Palms proper.
If players land on the very top and try to slide down the mountain, they’ll wind up taking enough fall damage to kill themselves immediately, so the only way to complete this Challenge is to land on this platform directly or build up to it from another location. At the start of a match when building materials are scarce, that proves a dangerous task.
Here’s a visual aid that indicates exactly where the Battle Star is located on the map:
Because this precise location is so tricky, it’s actually one of the more difficult we’ve seen of the “search between” Challenge format.
Here’s an aerial view that can also help with sticking the landing:
The precise location is just barely southeast of that weird rock formation that’s skinnier at the bottom and wider at the top, but on that very same ledge. For what it’s worth, that rock reminds me of the rock formation that Rey slashed in half with the blue lightsaber in The Last Jedi while she was on Ahch-To.
There are also several cacti nearby, so it should be fairly easy to find.
After completing this Challenge, it’s a good idea to head northeast towards the basketball hoop that’s in Paradise Palms proper to work towards the “score a basket on different hoops” Challenge. Yet another Challenge in Week 2 requires players to get eliminations in Paradise Palms anyway, so get aggressive while browsing the area.
Season 5 won’t end until around September 27, so players have plenty of time to complete these Challenges before they disappear forever.
