The latest new type of Challenge to hit Fortnite: Battle Royale in Season 5, Week 2 looks a lot like Week 7 of Season 4, except instead of scoring soccer goals, players have to score a basket on five different basketball hoops. This time around, however, they’ll need the basketball toy to do so.
Week 5 kicked off Thursday morning at 4 a.m., per the usual weekly reset start time. Yet again, the previously leaked Challenges proved correct. This basketball Challenge is the first to require a specific emote and obviously the first to require a toy.
Players can unlock the Basketball toy upon reaching Tier 11 on the Premium Battle Pass. Somewhat similar to spray paint emotes, toys like the Basketball interact with the world of Fortnite: Battle Royale.
There are at least nine basketball hoops that players can use to complete this Challenge, but they only need to hit up five of them. And because players don’t have to do them all in a single match, it’s possible to take some time on this one.
Here’s our map of most, or perhaps all, of the viable basketball hoop locations:
The two basketball hoop locations atop the mountain near Fatal Fields and the one at Junk Junction are the two outliers for this Challenge. Many of the other locations are clustered together on the east and west sides of the islands.
One great strategy might be to land at the second most northern house in Snobby Shores for that hoop and then go east to the unnamed sports complex. Depending on the route the storm takes, players might then head to Tilted Towers or Greasy Grove next. And there’s the option to follow a similar path hitting the three locations on or near Retail Row.
Considering that Season 5 won’t end until around September 27, players have plenty of time to complete this Challenge. So there’s no need to panic if somebody hasn’t reached Tier 11 and gotten the Basketball toy just yet.
