The lead-up to the premiere of Marvel’s The Defenders on Netflix has mostly focused on how cool three of the four main characters are (and also Danny, I guess). The new black-and-white poster the streaming service shared on Wednesday continues this trend. The Defenders — especially Jessica Jones and Luke Cage — look badass as hell.
The Defenders, which will hit Netflix on August 18, brings the heroes of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist together to combat an evil threatening New York City that’s too great for any of them to take on alone. The trailer for the series hints that the four of them don’t necessarily play nice with one another, especially Jessica. They don’t look especially enthusiastic about being in the same shot together, and the tagline for new motion key art really drives the dysfunctionality of the supergroup home. “There’s no ‘us’ in team,” the Defenders Twitter and Facebook accounts wrote.
The Avengers assemble, and the Defenders roll their eyes.
Danny is, of course, trying too hard in the motion art above. Check out the still poster below.
All eight episodes of The Defenders will be available to stream on Netflix later this summer, on August 18.
