'Fortnite' Giant Phone Locations, Durr Burger Number, and Pizza Pit Number
One of the harder challenges we've seen in some time.
Fortnite: Battle Royale introduced a pair of giant telephones into the game as part of the version 8.40 update Wednesday, all so we could enjoy a two-stage challenge as part of Season 8, Week 8. First, players have to “dial the Durrr Burger number on the big telephone west of Fatal Fields” and then they have to “dial the Pizza Pit number on the big telephone east of The Block.”
This new challenge format functions similar to playing sheet music on giant pianos or even the carnival clown board. But whereas other similar challenges can be accomplished without any weapons, you have to be very accurate with these phones, essentially requiring some kind of short- to mid-range rifle or pistol.
They’re both giant rotary phones, an ancient style of landline telephones where you have to stick your finger in a hole at the number you want to dial and spin it all the way around clockwise until you hit the catch. In Fortnite, that means you have to shoot each number one-by-one and watch the dial swing around, so the whole process takes some time.
Here are the locations of the two phones.
Where to Dial the Durrr Burger Number on the Big Telephone West of Fatal Fields
Just southwest of Fatal Fields, you’ll find the giant white telephone for Durr Burger tucked inside a small outcropping of snow-covered trees with some rocks, a chest, and maybe even some floor loot. The number is 555-0152, which is really easy to dial except for the 1. We recommend hopping up on the bottom-right corner of the phone and taking aim. It’s all but a requirement that you use some kind of gun to dial. Otherwise, aiming the pickaxe sounds like a nightmare.
Because this is an isolated mountaintop, unless you take the time to loot and collect enough building materials to build a ramp up, you might as well just land directly there and duke it out to become king of the hill.
Where to Dial the Pizza Pit Number on the Big Telephone East of The Block
The huge red Pizza Pit phone is indeed east of The Block and just a little bit north, very close to the coast. It’s just east of a small cliff and south of a large tree not far from where the treeline breaks heading west. There’s often a piece of floor loot nearby and a chest can spawn at the base of the tree.
Whoever gets to the phone first will probably get at least one weapon and use it to eliminate everyone that shows up. If you’re an adept gunfighter, then by all means try it. Otherwise, consider looting on the eastern edge of The Block and then heading over. The phone number to dial is 555-0198, painfully similar to the Durr Burger number. Again, be mindful of dialing the 1.
Due to current foot traffic in these areas, we recommend waiting until closer to the end of the season to do this challenge.
According to the in-game countdown, Fortnite Season 8 should end on Wednesday, May 8, so there’s plenty of time. It’s entirely possible that Season 9 could begin on Thursday, May 9. Either way, that’s a few weeks left for you to complete this and other challenges.
