The 'Game of Thrones' Season 8, Episode 2 Title May Have Leaked on Reddit

When it comes to the final season of Game of Thrones, HBO isn’t taking any chances with spoilers. We didn’t even know the name for the season premiere until it had already aired, but thanks to a leak on Reddit, we may already have a pretty good idea what the Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 2 title will be.

Warning: Possible spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 2 ahead.

Before the season premiere ever aired, redditor u/jorywea78 shared a pair of images on Reddit claiming to reveal the titles and descriptions for the first two episodes of Game of Thrones Season 8. The leak appears to come from a French cable channel guide, which allegedly spilled details about the upcoming season.

The first claimed that Episode 1 would be titled “Winter Is Here,” which seemed a little on the nose. It also turned out to be wrong (but close) when the title was revealed to be “Winterfell.” However, the episode description was pretty spot on, suggesting that it would focus on Jon and Dany’s arrival in Winterfell (not really a surprise, but still).

So what does the leak have to say about Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 2. The title is allegedly “The Rightful Queen,” which seems to be a direct reference to Dany. It could also hint at how she’ll react to the news that Jon Snow is actually a Targaryen, too, and the rightful king. (Spoiler alert: She’s probably not going to take it well.) Then again, this title could prove to be slightly off or totally wrong, so take it with a grain of salt.

The description (in French) is pretty straightforward, and roughly translated, it reveals that Jon and Dany will assemble their troops for the battle with the army of the dead. (Which, duh.) But it’s worth noting this leak went up before Episode 1 even aired, which makes it a little more impressive.

The big takeaway here is still the title, and while it’s possible that could be wrong (HBO might even change it between now and Sunday), it feels like a pretty big hint at what’s coming in Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 2.

Now that Daenerys Targaryen has arrived in Winterfell, she may face her greatest challenge yet when she learns her lover is not only a member of her family but also has a stronger claim to the throne. We’d like to think that Dany will take this news in stride, but based on everything we’ve seen over the past seven seasons, that seems like the least likely outcome.

Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 2 airs Sunday at 9 p.m. on HBO.
