'Avengers: Endgame' Poster Teases 3 Characters Who Survived 'Infinity War'

There’s a totally epic new poster for Avengers: Endgame, and it offers some subtle hints as to new characters who might’ve survived Thanos’ Decimation in Avengers: Infinity War. Did Wong, Happy Hogan, and Pepper Potts survive? Because it looks like they each might have a big role to play.

Marvel Studios released a new Avengers: Endgame trailer on Thursday morning, and an hour later, the Russo bros. also shared the brand-new poster via Twitter and Instagram. In it, Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel stands with the original Avengers from the 2012 film plus Ant-Man, Nebula, Rocket Raccoon, and Okoye.

We already knew all of these characters survived, but hidden in the credits at the bottom of the poster, however, are three actors not featured on the poster: Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

That probably means that Wong, Happy Hogan, and Pepper Potts have more significant roles to play in Endgame than most of the other characters in the MCU, alive or dead. It also may mean these three survived Thanos’ Snap, something we still don’t know for sure. There’s always the possibility they’re dead and only appear in flashback sequences, but we have reason to believe otherwise.

Does this mean Wong, Happy, and Pepper are alive?

The Endgame credits on IMDb have admittedly been a total mess since Infinity War killed off half the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Many dead characters are still listed as appearing, even some that died long before Thanos turned untold trillions to ash. That leads us to believe that through their combined efforts, the heroes will undo Thanos’ Snap somehow — or IMDb might just be wildly inaccurate.

We really won’t know until we actually see Endgame. These three characters being alive and well, however, makes a lot of sense given various leaks within the overarching narrative of the MCU.

As far as anybody knows, Wong is the only Master of the Mystic Arts that remains, and he also played a sizable role in Infinity War. With Doctor Strange dusted, Wong has probably been defending Earth from mystical threats this whole time, hanging out at the Sanctum Sanctorum.

While on the set of Deadly Class last year, we also received confirmation directly from Benedict Wong that he’s in both Infinity War and Endgame — and that he reunited with Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One and Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange for at least one scene. Flashback? Time travel? An alternate universe? He wouldn’t tell. But all are possible.

If any hero in this movie dies, it’s going to be Iron Man. He was the superhero that started the MCU back in 2008, and this is the culminating cinematic event that’s going to reshape the entire universe. Tony Stark sacrificing himself just feels right.

Therefore, it makes a lot of sense for Happy Hogan (his best friend) and Pepper Potts (his fiancée) to have larger roles than other supporting characters in the MCU.

Paltrow has already confirmed Endgame will be her last Marvel film, and plenty of Endgame leaks have also shown her in a set of Iron Man-type armor. She’s also let slip before that Tony and Pepper have a child in Endgame. You can’t have a child if you’re dust, right?

Again, all of this is purely speculative, but the evidence is here to support Wong, Happy, and Pepper all having significant roles to play in Avengers: Endgame and that they survived the events of Infinity War.

This is going to be epic.
