Who Will Win Rams vs. Eagles? A.I. Predicts Goff vs. Wentz Match-Up

A hive-mind of NFL experts has predicted this Week 15 match-up.

At 11-2, the Rams have already clinched the NFC West, but there’s trouble in Tinseltown after last week’s loss to Chicago on Sunday Night Football. The defeat cost the Rams the No. 1 seed in the NFC, as the Saints own the head-to-head tiebreaker, but more importantly, proved that Los Angeles’ glitzy offense was mortal, as Khalil Mack the Bears largely shut down the high-powered Los Angeles offense. Fortunately for LA, the sledding gets easier from here on out – the Rams’ final three games come against the Eagles, Cardinals, and 49ers.

At 6-7, the Eagles have only a minuscule chance of making the playoffs after losing last week’s battle with the Cowboys in overtime. To be fair to the Eagles, they did receive a terrible call on the game’s first play after replay officials failed to recognize that Philadelphia recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff. Or as safety Malcolm Jenkins put it, perhaps the replay officials should “stay off the bottle”.

If we’re being honest, the Eagles have underwhelmed this entire season, suffering from the so-called Super Bowl hangover effect. The Eagles didn’t string together two wins in a row until Weeks 12 and 13, which is hard to understand given the sheer amount of talent on the roster, and followed up that triumph with, you guessed it, yet another loss.

Hopefully, the Rams will finally put the sorry 2018 Eagles out of their misery. Make it quick. Rams 31, Eagles 24 is my prediction, but how does a hive-mind of NFL experts see this game ending up?

To predict the result of this Week 15 match-up, Unanimous A.I. used what’s known as swarm intelligence. A “swarm” of 29 NFL enthusiasts worked together as a hive mind to make their prediction. As you can see in the animation below, each participant controlled a golden magnet and used it to drag the puck toward the result they thought was the most likely outcome. This is where it gets interesting: As a user sees the puck move toward a particular decision, it triggers a psychological response. They might readjust their thinking as the group builds toward a consensus. It’s an artificial intelligence, produced by human brains, working together as a swarm.

As this swarm replay shows, the Rams are the predicted winner on Sunday at home.

The Eagles play at the Rams at 8:20 p.m. Eastern Sunday on NBC.

Here’s how Unanimous A.I. has predicted previous NFL games this season.

Unanimous A.I. has made some scarily accurate predictions in the past using swarm intelligence, as our this article explains. For instance, the swarm picked this year’s Oscar winners with 94 percent accuracy. Here’s Unanimous A.I. founder Louis Rosenberg explaining swarm intelligence at a recent TEDx Talk:
