'Fortnite' Abandoned Mansion Dance Off: Location, Map, Video and Strategy

The exact location and best strategies to do it.

Dancing has officially become a weekly challenge staple in the world of Fortnite. After last week’s forbidden dance locations, now we’re all getting down in a basement dance club located in an abandoned mansion of all places.

Week 2 for Fortnite: Battle Royale Season 7 began Thursday morning, and along with some festive piano playing, a new challenge has players compete in a dance off at an abandoned mansion.” Conceptually, this one’s pretty similar to May’s “raise the disco ball at Loot Lake” challenge. Players have to go to a specific location and dance on special panels to do a certain thing.

But in this case, players have to go to the basement in the abandoned superhero mansion — the one that emerged at the start of Season 4. The basement has been transformed into a dance club with a scoreboard. One floor panel in a grid will light up, and if a player on one side of the room dances on top of it, they get a point. The scoring doesn’t actually matter so long as the player does it against another player.

The best way into the dance floor is on the northern side of the superhero mansion.

Much like the disco ball challenge, this one’s best attempted in Duos or Squads, where one can compel strangers — or friends — to head right to this destination and complete it. Because there’s no scoring requirement, all it really takes is one round of dancing. Just make sure the dancing happens on top of an active panel.

It’s technically still possible to do this in Solos, but then you’re relying on the good graces of enemy players who would usually rather see you dead. But if someone is going to that basement, they’re probably also looking for a dance off anyway.

Note that less than half a square north of this location is the Lonely Lodge piano where players can work towards completing another Week 2 challenge.

According to the in-game countdown, Fortnite Season 7 doesn’t end until February 27, 2019. So players have plenty of time to complete these and other challenges before Season 8 is upon us all.
