'Venom' Post-Credits Scenes: How Many and Are They Worth It?
Venom might not be a proper Marvel movie, but that doesn’t mean we won’t get an MCU-style post-credits scene or two. At this point, anything less would be a big disappointment, but if you’re unsure whether it’s worth sticking around after the credits role read on for a spoiler-free rundown of everything you need to know about the Venom post-credits scene(s).
There are no spoilers for Venom in this article, just a heads up about how many post-credits scenes to expect.
The short answer is: yes, there’s a post-credits scene after Venom. Actually, there’s two, but only one of them is connected to the expanded Spidey-free cinematic universe Sony seems to be building.
Don’t Miss: ‘Venom’ Movie Review
First up is a mid-credits scene that teases what could be coming in the next Venom movie. Before that happens, we’ll reportedly get a Morbius spin-off starring Jared Leto as the vampiric Spidey villain (in a world without Spider-Man, most likely). But afterwards, it looks like we could see Venom 2 — or whatever it’s actually called — with an interesting new villain.
After that mid-credits scene, you’ll probably want to stick around for the final post-credits moment. This one might not be as important to Sony’s budding cinematic universe, but it’s still a lot of fun. Suffice to stay that if you’re a comic book fan you’ll want to stay until the credits have ended and the lights go up.
We’ll be back later this week to explain exactly what happened in both of those Venom post-credits scenes, but for now just keep in mind that you’ll probably want to remain in your seat until the bitter end.
Venom hits theaters on October 5.
