The Fortnite: Battle Royale Week 9 Challenges include the Shifty Shafts treasure map that sends players to a scenic mountaintop at the center of the map.

Season 5, Week 9 began Friday morning at 9 a.m., after this week’s version 5.40 update pushed the release of these challenges back an entire day. Just like every odd-numbered week, there’s a treasure map challenge, but all anybody needs to know is the exact location of the Battle Star to complete it.

To do just that, players will have to head towards a small mountain just south of the map’s center point. More specifically, there’s an elevated platform directly north of Salty Springs and southwest of Dusty Depot.

Here’s the location:

The treasure map indicates this specific mountain.

The actual treasure map indicates a mid-level platform on this jagged-looking mountain, and the Battle Star is located at the southernmost point. As players skydive down to it, the area will only look like the treasure map if they approach from the east. But no matter what direction they come from, all they need to look for is the small campsite with a fire and two tents — land just south of that on a higher ridge and walk to the edge of that platform.

Do all of that, and you might be this excited:

Just kidding. I caught my player avatar right when her glider disappeared, so it looks like she's cheering.

The earlier that players try to complete this Challenge, the more likely it is they’ll be attacked by enemies. The campsite usually offers a weapon, so it might be easy to reap a few eliminations by taking out all the unarmed players.

It’s not a bad idea to head northeast after completing this Challenge, picking up loot in Dusty Divot and making a beeline for Tomato Temple, where players need to get eliminations for another Week 9 Challenge. Also consider prioritizing assault rifles and explosives, both of which require either damage or eliminations in Week 9.

Especially with Season 5 ending in just a few more weeks, completing all of these Challenges before Fortnite Season 6 starts is going to become that much more pressing.

Fortnite Season 5 is scheduled to end on or around September 24, 2018.
