'Fortnite' Search Stone Heads: Location, Map and Video for Week 6 Challenge

They came a long way from Easter Island.

Since Fortnite: Battle Royale Season 5 began, a bunch of Moai stone faces appeared on the map as if teleported there from Easter Island in the real world. Finally, in Week 6, they’re starting to mean something. A new challenge asks you to “Search where the stone heads are looking.” Here’s how to solve it.

Week 6 kicked off Thursday morning at 9 a.m. Eastern, and rather than the typical “search between” format of challenges on even-numbered weeks, there’s a new variation that has players pinpointing the exact location that all those Easter Island stone heads are pointed. Much like the real-life Moia stone heads, the ones in Fortnite are seemingly connected by some kind of ley line system of geological convergence.

In this case, the direction all the faces are looking converges upon western Salty Springs, which also just so happens to be directly below the huge rift portal that cracked open the sky during last season’s rocket launch. Could that be a clue as to how the story might evolve for Season 6?

Here’s a map showing the faces and the specific location:

All of the stone faces are looking towards western Salty Springs.

Much like with treasure map and “search between” locations, players just need to land on a precise spot to find the Battle Star. In this case, the specific spot is on the raised plateau just southwest of Salty Springs, roughly in the center. Like every other challenge of this type, there’s bound to be lots of competition, so be prepared to hack away at opponents and/or suffer a quick elimination.

Week 6 also brought with it a challenge requiring players to eliminate enemies in Tilted Towers, which is a short walk northwest of this location. Similarly, a new type of challenge involves completing five different timed trials that basically function like obstacle courses, and there’s one right in the center of Salty Springs proper.

Fortnite Season 5 is scheduled to end on September 25, 2018, so there’s still plenty of time to complete these and other challenges.
