'Arrow' Season 7 Spoilers: New Superhero Teased, but Is It Batwoman?

A new superhero in the Arrowverse just suited up for the first time, and while we all really hope it’s Ruby Rose’s Batwoman, there’s really no way to know for sure. Here’s what you need to know about the latest Arrow Season 7 spoilers.

Late on Monday night, Arrow lead actor Stephen Amell — who plays Oliver Queen, aka the Green Arrow, on the show — teased over Twitter that someone just suited up for the first time. “Watching someone try on a superhero suit for the first time never gets old,” he wrote. Considering Ruby Rose’s casting as Kate Kane/Batwoman was only just announced earlier this month, it’s possible that Amell is talking about her.

But considering the Arrowverse shows are still pretty far from filming the upcoming December crossover that’ll debut the character, chances are that this new “superhero suit” could be for somebody else.

At this point, each Arrowverse has a rotating cast of costumed heroes on every core team. Diggle, Felicity, and even Team Arrow’s newest members have all gotten costumes at one point or another. So it’s possible that Amell is talking about a new Team Arrow member suiting up for the first time. With Colton Haynes returning to Arrow full-time, maybe he’s getting an upgraded suit as Arsenal/Red Arrow?

This isn't even every character in the Arrowverse.

Or this new superhero suit could be for a hero on another show. Team Flash is overdue for the shakeup involving new team members, and the Legends of Tomorrow rotate crew members often. There are a lot of characters in this universe, and things are always changing, so there’s really no way to know for sure.

That being said, everyone on Twitter really wants this new hero to be Batwoman, which is totally still a strong possibility. The CW might’ve done some kind of screen test for Ruby Rose or they shot some kind of promotional footage. Perhaps, as the founding hero of the Arrowverse, the Green Arrow himself shows up for these types of things to welcome any newcomers.

Consider, for instance, that in November 2016 Entertainment Weekly did a photo shoot featuring characters from all four Arrowverse shows. The same thing could be happening now for an upcoming issue that’ll debut the first promotional images for Batwoman alongside the many other Arrowverse heroes.

We might know for sure soon, but last year, The CW began promoting the Arrowverse crossover almost exactly two months before its air date, in which case we might expect Batwoman art or footage of her debut right around the time these shows start premiering in early- to mid-October.

Arrow Season 7 premieres on The CW on Monday, October 15.
