Destiny 2 is about to kick off a month-long celebration with its “Solstice of Heroes” update. But before that happens, here’s everything you need to know about the new event, including what time the Destiny 2 reset usually happens, and why it’s slightly different this time around.
What Time Is the Destiny 2 Reset?
Typically, Bungie rolls out Destiny 2 updates each week at 1 a.m. Eastern. However, because of the size of the update, you can expect the hotfix download to arrive an hour earlier than normal at noon. That shouldn’t affect gameplay, but at 1 p.m. Eastern the reset will officially begin, and you’ll be booted from the game during downtime, according to GameRevolution.
When the Destiny 2 reset time is over, there will be a bunch of new challenges to complete and rewards to unlock.
Everything Coming in “Solstice of Heroes”
Destiny 2 is offering fans and newcomers alike a chance to unlock some exciting new armor during the event, which lasts until August 28 at 1 p.m. Eastern.
To take advantage of these updates, you’ll want to head to the Statue of Heroes (the focal point of this special event) to pick up a new Scorched armor set (Power 240). Each piece of armor actually reveals a new objective, and once you’ve completed them you can return to the statue for your next armor set.
Solve all the objectives, and you’ll upgrade to Rekindled armor (Power 340). After that, you’ll get Resplendent armor (Power 400) before finally unlocking the Masterwork version of your armor.
Destiny 2’s “Solstice of Heroes” also offers “Redux” versions of old story missions that you can participate in by finding their statues in the Tower. Here are the five missions: Homecoming, Spark, Payback, 1AU, and Chosen.
That’s just a taste of everything that’s coming when the Destiny 2 reset time arrives and ushers in “Solstice of Heroes.” Check out the full rundown on Bungie’s website, and get hyped for the month-long event that’s about to arrive.
