"I'm in the future."

Now that Kanye West has taken to being extremely online, the wealth of possibilities for whatever may hit his feed next has kept fans on their toes. On Sunday, perhaps unsurprisingly albeit seemingly apropos of nothing, West’s Twitter account began stanning Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk.

“I really love my Tesla. I’m in the future. Thank you Elon,” West tweeted. In a subsequent tweet that included a prayer hands emoji, he wrote: “I heard these are really good for the environment.”

Thank you, indeed, Elon!

West then appeared to talk specifically about the experience of driving a Tesla (a Model S, as Teslarati points out), which if his tweets are to be believed, sounds pretty chill.

“I’m super chaaaaaarged. Bout to take this whole thing to mars [sic],” he wrote. “This is the funnest car I’ve ever driven.”

Answering what some may have been wondering, BuzzFeed confirmed with Tesla that the tweets were not part of an ad partnership between West and Tesla. It seems, therefore, that West is just extremely here for the experience of driving an electric vehicle and being “in the future.” The future is now, after all.

Lest we forget, this is hardly the first time these two have crossed paths in pop culture headlines. During a Westworld panel earlier this year at SXSW, Musk received a question about who inspired him and answered simply: “Kanye West, obviously.” Previously, Musk in 2015 wrote the multi-hyphenate’s entry for Time’s 100 Most Influential People list. There’s also that time in 2011 West dropped by Space X’s rocket factory for reasons that were not immediately made clear at the time.

Could we be looking at a potential Yeezy and Musk collaboration in the works? Probably not. For now, we’ll have to settle for the mesmerizing randomness with which the two of them tweet.
