Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple had a perfect attendance record in all of Netflix’s Marvel shows, making appearances in both seasons of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders, but she was MIA in The Punisher. She’s also sitting out Jessica Jones’s sophomore season, but news broke on Thursday that the Marvel mainstay will be coming back with a vengeance.
A report from Discussing Film claims that Dawson will reprise her role as the nurse-turned-superhero helper in Daredevil Season 3 and Iron Fist Season 2. Dawson had already been confirmed for a Luke Cage season 2 appearance, which makes sense since Claire and Luke are dating. Daredevil and Iron Fist are both shooting their seasons in New York City at the same time, which makes it pretty easy for Dawson to appear in both.
Fitting Claire into Luke Cage is easy, and her relationship with Luke also paves the way for a natural Iron Fist appearance, as the two superheroes are going to have a mini-Heroes for Hire team-up in Luke Cage. Daredevil Season 3 is a little trickier, since there isn’t as obvious a place for Claire in the storyline the season is adapting. But, since Daredevil was the first hero Claire ever met, and that series was the one that kicked everything off, it seems only fitting that she’d find some way to lend the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen a hand.
Season 3 of Daredevil will also bring Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin, back to give the titular hero more grief. Fisk made a brief but memorable appearance in Season 2, but it looks like he’s poised for a bigger role in the upcoming season. Set photos of people protesting with signs reading “lock Fisk up” suggest that he either gets a new trial or, more worryingly for Daredevil, gets out of jail. If Daredevil gets his ass kicked, he’ll need Claire to stitch up his wounds… again.
The next Marvel Netflix show does not feature Claire Temple, but you can stream Jessica Jones Season 2 on March 8.
