New 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' Teaser Sees Chewie Whack a Porg

Apparently Chewbacca isn’t a big fan of Porgs. The furry little fuzzballs, set to make their debut in the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi, have divided fans into pro and anti camps. It seems the anti camp can safely count Chewie among its members, as a new teaser revealed on Thursday.

The 15-second preview, released while many Americans were busy tucking into their Thanksgiving dinner, is mostly made up of already-released footage, but there’s a few surprises. There’s a new line of dialogue from Captain Phasma, as she taunts an unseen character. At the end of the clip, we see a disgruntled Chewie take his anger out on the creatures that originate from the planet Ahch-To.

Chewie isn’t the only one to have a so-so relationship with the furry creatures. Rey apparently has a rather lukewarm attitude toward them, as she’s too busy on her own journey to pay attention to the creatures. Actors’ interviews also suggest they don’t care much for them either.

“They’re very, very cute, but when you put them in a bunch, in holes, on the Millennium Falcon, that’s when they start to become really, really freaky…” Finn actor John Boyega said in a recent interview. “They’ve got real big eyes, all bunched together. There were, like, little tiny ones and little big ones that would just…yeah, it looks like a rash.”

The teaser comes just a few days after the previous Last Jedi trailer, which saw a terrified Luke screaming at Rey in fear of her powers, urging her to resist a mysterious calling in the Force, as well as Fin jolting awake in a bacta tank for unknown reasons.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres in theaters on December 15.
