Here's Who Still Watches Vintage Pornography Online

Vintage porn is cool if you like voluminous hair and wondering if the people in the movie you're watching are still alive.

Prefer to get your blast from the past? According to new data released by Pornhub, you’re definitely not alone.

Vintage porn is having a bit of a cultural moment. HBO’s new show The Deuce premiered on television Sunday after the pilot was released online August 25. The series stars James Franco and tracks the burgeoning pornography industry during the Golden Age of Porn.

But is anyone still watching the “blue movies” produced in that era? Pornography filmed prior to the 2000s might seem archaic to some people, but according to the latest edition of Pornhub Insights and an accompanying piece in Men’s Health, vintage porn is a grand slam with a certain set.

Unsurprisingly, vintage porn’s viewership skews older. Pornhub users over the age of 55 are 50 percent more likely to watch vintage porn than the average user, and people who watch vintage porn view it for 139 seconds longer than the average time spent across categories. Pornhub’s team speculated that these users might want to “revisit their erections of the past,” which, though icky, is true.

Men and New Englanders are the most avid consumers of vintage porn in the United States. Worldwide, Belarus racked up the most searches. The most-desired decade is the ‘80s, with the ‘90s and ‘70s coming in second and third, but both clocking in about half as many searches as the ‘80s.
