Marvel's Next Franchise Kicks Off With First 'Inhumans' Trailer

ABC

The Inhumans, the odd duck of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, are coming. After plans for a proper Inhumans movie were scrapped, Black Bolt and his weird royal family made the jump to TV for an ABC series similar to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Marvel shared an ominous teaser narrated by Game of Thrones star Iwan Rheon a while back, and on Thursday, they unveiled the full trailer. It is overcast, to say the least.

The trailer focuses on Rheon’s character, Maximus, planning to overthrow his brother, the Inhumans’ king Black Bolt (Anson Mount). The royal family of this group of superpowered race flee their base on the moon and heading to Hawaii for refuge, though it doesn’t seem like they found it. The most important part of the trailer by far is a brief glimpse at Lockjaw, a giant bulldog who can teleport. The Inhumans are really, really weird, y’all.

The trailer leaked earlier this month when a watermarked version of the spot made its way around the web on June 13. Thankfully, you can check out the unobstructed trailer below.

As the trailer proudly touts, Inhumans will premiere its first two episodes in Imax theaters on September 1 before making the jump to ABC on September 29.
