Let it be known that after today Stephen Amell really is the Green Arrow. On Thursday night, the star of The CW series Arrow participated in a pre-taped celebrity edition of NBC’s American Ninja Warrior. Fans knew weeks ago the actor would compete — a preview of Amell’s run on the course was uploaded online — but last night’s broadcast revealed that Amell not only finished the course but completed one more obstacle before finally giving in.

To raise money for Red Nose Day, an annual charity from the UK and spearheaded in the United States by NBC, Amell joined other celebs, like comedian Nikki Glaser, retired MLB player Nick Swisher, and TV journalist Natalie Morales, in raising money for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Money was pledged for every obstacle Amell and the other celebrities completed, but Amell was one of the few to complete the course. After hitting the red button to complete the course, Amell asked to do an obstacle from the next stage: the salmon ladder, a popular exercise Amell has incorporated into his TV show. After completing it (which got him to $35,000 in money pledged), it became undeniable that Amell really is the Green Arrow.

Amell finished his course in the middle of the Swinging Peg Board. Before falling into the water below, the actor addressed the audience. “Thank you for coming out tonight,” he said while swinging high in the air. “You have been a wonderful audience.” Splat.

In total, Amell raised $35,000 in his run, which made the M&M-sponsored “Run of the Night.” See the whole thing below.
