A Stark Family Reunion on 'GoT' Season 7 is Looking Likely

HBO

Game of Thrones might be between seasons, but the little birds around the set are as active as ever and they bring is major news: It’s looking like the surviving Starks might finally reunite after seven seasons apart. That’s right, Maisie Williams and Isaac Hempstead-Wright, who play Arya and Bran, have been spotted on the Belfast set. The former was even wearing a Northern outfit — looks like A Girl is no longer No One.

This is welcome news, but granted, as this is the show’s penultimate season, it’s not a huge surprise. But it was still up in the air as to whether showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss would reunite the Starks in Season 7, wait until the final season, or perhaps cruelly kill them all right before Bran was about to tell Jon about his true parentage. It wouldn’t be the first time the show pulled a move like that — recall Ned Stark’s parting words to Jon Snow: “Next time we meet, I’ll tell you about your mother.” Of course they never met again.

So though a Stark reunion is not shocking, it was never a guarantee. And to complicate matters on Arya’s end, her old crush and traveling companion Gendry will also be back in Season 7. It will be fascinating to see how Arya relates to people from her old life, as she has arguably changed the most out of anyone. It will be hard for the show to top Jon and Sansa’s reunion, which was one of Season 6’s most emotional moments.

At present, there is no word on the show’s most anticipated reuinion — Arya and her direwolf Nymeria.

We’ll have to wait and see what the little birds deliver on that front. The North Remembers.
