Watch Magical Mayhem in the 'Fantastic Beasts' Comic-Con Trailer

More transatlantic shenanigans from the Harry Potter spinoff.

Warner Bros

The Harry Potter not-quite prequel Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them has a new trailer, and it’s both all-American and full of spell-casting chaos.

The movie, which stars Eddie Redmayne, Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller, Ron Perlman, and Carmen Ejogo, will focus on the American magical community in a rollicking adventure around Prohibition-era New York City.

Previous trailers sketched out the plot: Newt Scamander, a Magizoologist, accidentally creates a bit of a magical disaster when critters escape from his Goblet of Fire Mad Eye-Moody style briefcase. This exacerbates tension between the American magical community and anti-wizard bigots, ensnaring a quirky cast of characters. And chaos ensues.

The Trailer also gave us a peek at the American Wizarding government — called the Magical Congress of the United States of America, or MACUSA.

But this new trailer, unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con, shows more of Colin Farrell’s character — a mysterious auror — more creatures large and small, including phoenixes, goblins, and nifflers, and more of the tension between the human world and the Wizarding folk.

J.K Rowling penned the script, which should set up the rest of a film trilogy. Unlike Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, there is a very low chance of this plot being questionable. The movie drops on November 16, 2016, and it’s the next best thing to finally getting your Hogwarts letter. Mischief Managed.
