Some truly unbelievable names on this formidable list.

Over the past year, plenty of tidbits about David Lynch’s ambitious new Twin Peaks reboot on Showtime have trickled out. We had confirmation of many crucial regulars — from Leland (Ray Wise) to Shelly (Mädchen Amick) to Audrey (Sherilynn Fenn). Kyle MacLachlan (Agent Cooper), of course, was on board from the very beginning. We also heard about a few shocking and very welcome additions, including Amanda Seyfried and Laura Dern. But a new press release from Showtime has the full alphabetical list of participants, and wow, it is hilarious and thoroughly Lynchian. It seems impossible that this many people could even live in the town of Twin Peaks.

Nonetheless, we’ve scoured it so you don’t have to, and here are the most ridiculous additions to the cast. No character titles, just WTF familiar names. Let’s start with just the famous musicians:

Trent Reznor

Yes, the mastermind of Nine Inch Nails — who collaborated with David Lynch on his 1997 film Lost Highway by producing the soundtrack — will lend his acting talents. Or perhaps play at the Roadhouse?

Eddie Vedder

The Pearl Jam frontman is a known fellow Transcendental Meditation freak, and active in the David Lynch Foundation, so in a way, this is unsurprising.

Sharon van Etten

Here’s a left-field one. The introspective New Jersey indie singer/songwriter must have been ecstatic when she got the call.

Sky Ferriera

The sometimes-controversial singer, actress, and model seems a perfect fit for Lynch’s ethereal world.

Rebekah del Rio

The mysterious Silencio singer from Lynch’s Mulholland Drive joins the cavalcade of musical talent.

Julee Cruise

Yes, the original Roadhouse singer is back! Thank God.

Moving on:

Naomi Watts

Lynch’s Mulholland Drive star has come back into the fold.

Michael Cera

Lynch’s last big turn was as a talk-show-hosting coach on Louie; perhaps consorting with famous comic actors is a new hobby. Where’s Jonah Hill, then?

Tim Roth

After co-starring in Lynch’s daughter’s film A Fall from Grace in 2013, the accomplished British actor is fully entering Lynchworld, hopefully to be sleazy as hell.

Harry Dean Stanton

One of the great and most recognizable character actors of the past 40 years or so, and one of David Lynch’s espoused favorites. He co-stars in Lynch’s under appreciated 1999 film The Straight Story. This is an unbelievably welcome addition, and a guaranteed fit for the Twin Peaks universe.

Matthew Lillard

The obnoxious and iconic teen villain and stoner goofball on the turn of the millennium has come to Lynch-land — who more improbable? Though you could see him, for instance, running with Bobby Briggs (Dana Ashbrook), who is also confirmed.

Ernie Hudson

The inimitable Winston from Ghostbusters and Warden Glynn from Oz, busting into the creepiest town in Washington state. Who would’ve thunk it?

Ashley Judd

Another ‘90s starlet to offset the absence of Lara Flynn Boyle (Donna). She and Lynch have never worked together.

Tom Sizemore

WHAT?! I guess only Lynch could resurrect Hollywood’s most incorrigible bad boy.

Monica Bellucci

As a wise man once said, holy schnikies!

David Duchovny

We weren’t sure, but the X-Files/Californication goofball is now confirmed to reprise his Season 2 side role as transgender DEA agent Denise Bryson.

The full cast is below. Do we really have to wait a full year for this?
