Jesse Custer and Arseface in new promos for AMC's Preacher.

New promo images for AMC’s upcoming Preacher series appeared today, giving fans a new look at Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s acclaimed comic book.

Preacher, which debuts on May 22, will follow former minister Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) as he battles the supernatural forces of heaven and hell, all while literally looking for God (who went missing) with his ex-girlfriend, Tulip O’Hare (Ruth Negga). Along the way, he will meet disfigured rockstar who goes, fittingly, by Arseface (Ian Colletti), and an alcoholic Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joe Gilgun).

Rogen and Goldberg will serve as executive producers, co-developing the show alongside Sam Catlin, of Breaking Bad fame. The pilot premiered at SXSW earlier this year, and after seeing the first few episodes, we declared that it could be AMC’s next The Walking Dead. The network seems to have a lot of faith in the series, especially with the amount of talent guiding the series to screen.

These new promo images excellently bring that to life the dark lunacy of the source material. Preacher continues to look absolutely bonkers and the ad campaign is not avoiding the sort of craziness that fans are expecting from the TV adaptation.
