Thor 4 Title: 'Love and Thunder' Stars Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson

Lady Thor!

We already knew it existed, but now we know a whole lot more about Thor 4. Marvel Studios devoted a portion of its Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 to the upcoming Taika Waititi-directed movie, which stars Chris Hemsworth yet again in the lead role. Here’s everything we learned about Thor: Love and Thunder.

Along with Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson will also return in her role as Valkyrie. Thor: Love and Thunder is based on a comic book story by Jason Aaron and introduces Lady Thor, suggesting this could be Chris Hemsworth’s last movie in the MCU. Natalie Portman is also returning for Thor 4 as Jane Foster, almost certainly as the new Thor.

Jason Aaron’s The Mighty Thor was the comic story where Jane wielded the hammer, so this is all very exciting. And to confirm it, Portman showed up onstage at Hall H holding Thor’s hammer.

Meanwhile, Thompson offered a clue about her own plotline in Thor: Love and Thunder. “As the new king [of New Asgard], she needs to find her queen,” Thompson said.

We still don’t know a lot about the movie, but considering that it doesn’t come out for almost two years, there’s plenty of time to figure out those details. Just the knowledge that we’ll be getting Lady Thor, plus Valkyrie in one movie should have Marvel fans around the world excited.

The only question left to ask is: What does this mean for the Asgardians of the Galaxy?
