'Fortnite' Season 9 Battle Pass Skins, Pets, Toys, Emotes, and Overview

Is it worth the price?

Fortnite: Battle Royale Season 9 is here and that means a brand new Battle Pass full of skins and other cosmetics. For 950 V-Bucks (just under $10) you can unlock special challenges for the next three months and work towards 100 tiers of in-game items. There’s also a Battle Bundle that jumps you up to Tier 25 automatically for 2800 V-Bucks.

But is the Fortnite Season 9 Battle Pass worth the price? Let’s take a look at what’s inside.

Fortnite Season 9 Battle Pass: Skins

We know why you’re here. You want to see the new skins. Well here you go.

To kick things off, you’ll unlock Rox automatically with the Season 9 Battle Pass. She’s a progressive skin that suits up into what looks like a futuristic NASCAR racer over time.

Also included with the Battle Pass is Sentinel, basically a big robot humanoid chicken. Pretty sweet if you ask us.

At Tier 23 you’ll unlock Bunker Jonesey, which is a hilarious version of the classic default skin after the character spends a few years locked in an underground bunker. Paying for the Battle Bundle will unlock Bunker Jonesey automatically.

Wait, is that Thor in 'Avengers: Endgame'?

At Tier 47 you’ll unlock Vega, who looks a bit like a Star Wars rebel, and at Tier 87 you’ll get Demi, a sort of femme fatale with slight cyber punk vibes. Finally, at Tier 100, you’ll unlock Vendetta, another progressive skin that starts as a normal looking guy and eventually transforms into an evil robot.

Fortnite Season 9 Battle Pass: Pets

There’s just one new pet, but it’s a good one. At Tier 28 you’ll unlock Kyo, a robot cat that comes in a variety of colors you can add as you advance through the Battle Pass.

Fortnite Season 9 Battle Pass: Pickaxes

Epic Games just added a brand new type of pickaxe called “dual axes,” which is exactly what it sounds like. For now, there’s a cyberpunk version that you can unlock through the Rox skin’s specific challenges, but we have a feeling Fortnite will keep iterating on this new design in future updates.

Fortnite Season 9 Battle Pass: Gliders

There’s a few decent additions here, including a bright pink glider called “Turbo Spin” and the Retaliator, which is as aggressive as its name implies. There’s also Field Flyer and Scarlet Dragon, which are just different color schemes not total redesigns.

Fortnite Season 9 Battle Pass: Toys

Epic Games is adding a frisbee at Tier 35, and throwing it at other players creates a harmless confetti explosion. Get ready for new frisbee-related challenges, probably coming pretty soon.

Fortnite Season 9 Battle Pass: Emotes

There’s plenty of new emotes here, including a delightful “Sign Spinner” option that unlocks at Tier 63. There’s also a pretty funny “cluck strut” if you want to call our your enemies of teammates for being “chicken” and a “sad trombone” that comes complete with the actual instrument.

Fortnite Season 9 Battle Pass: Contrails

Peely might be dead (at least according to the Season 9 trailer), but his memory lives on in a new contrail that releases bananas from your hands as you float down to the ground (Tier 49). There’s also some futuristic options to match the new theme, including plasma, lightning, and Neo Tubes.

Fortnite Season 9 Battle Pass: Wraps

Used to customize the look of weapons and vehicles you use in each match, one the latest Wraps pays tribute to Peely by making whatever you pick up look like an overripe banana (Tier 19). There’s also Storm, which creates a moving pattern, along with Cursed and Power Surge.

According to the in-game countdown, Season 9 doesn’t end until July 23.
