'Avengers: Endgame' Tickets on Sale: Here's the Only Way to See It Early
"Whatever it takes."
by Corey PlanteTickets for Avengers: Endgame’s opening screenings on Thursday, April 25 and into the following weekend may already be sold out, but AMC Theaters is also hosting a 60-hour, 22-movie marathon of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe leading up to and including Endgame. For anyone that does commit to this grueling experience, their Endgame screening will begin at 5 p.m. Eastern — one whole hour before the earliest standard screenings.
All it takes is a $125 ticket (about $5.43 per movie) and a huge chunk of your dignity. But hey: “Whatever it takes.” Right?
There are seemingly only three of these marathons occurring in the US: At AMC Lincoln Square 13 (New York), AMC River East 21 (Illinois), and AMC Metreon 16 (California).
The marathons begin at 10 a.m. Eastern on Tuesday, April 23. At about 10 p.m. that night, fans will have only just reached the Battle of New York in The Avengers. Around the stroke of midnight, they can celebrate when Thor: The Dark World starts — or maybe they’ll just nap through perhaps the single worst MCU movie. The next prime opportunity for sleep is around 14 hours later when Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 occurs.
Now that ticketing websites such as AMC Theaters have stabilized after Tuesday’s record- and website-breaking sales for Endgame, these exclusive and incredibly long marathons might be the only way left for fans to see the movie before everyone else. And $125 is at least cheaper than some of the prices you find for second-hand tickets on Craigslist
Some AMC Theaters are also offering an “opening night fan event” that also starts at 5 p.m., but pretty much all of those are already sold out. By the time of this writing, even the NYC-based marathon has only a select few terribly positioned seats left (not including handicap seats, of which there are quite a few available).
Avengers: Endgame will be officially released on April 26, 2019.
