First 'Glass' Teaser Hints at the Beast's Return, Full Trailer Coming Soon

The hotly anticipated first trailer for Glass, the sequel to M. Night Shyamalan’s Unbreakable and Split is coming out this week, but ahead of the full trailer’s debut the studio released a teaser that suggests the Beast will be back with a vengeance in the upcoming film.

On Tuesday, a short teaser appropriately titled “Beast” hit the web. The spot shows Split star James McAvoy as Kevin Wendell Crumb, a.k.a. the Horde stoically peering out from behind broken glass. In a voice-over, his various personalities chime in as flashes of new footage appear, reflected in the glass shards. Hedwig, the child-like personality, warns that “the Beast is coming any minute now for you guys” as a flash of the hulked-out, super-strong killer from Split’s finale graces the screen.

The spot ends with the promise that the first trailer will debut on Friday, which times with Glass’ presence at San Diego Comic Con. It seems likely that there will be two additional teasers in the next two days — one for Bruce Willis’ Unbreakable character David Dunn, and one for Samuel L. Jackson’s self-styled supervillain Mr. Glass.

“Can’t believe I’m days away from being in hall H at #SDCC18 with #Glassmovie,” Shyamalan tweeted on Monday. “I’ve been waiting a long time for this moment. #timetobegin.”

The first official pictures from the film came out last week, and they show the three main characters inside of some sort of facility. Hopefully the Comic Con trailer will reveal how the Horde, David Dunn, and Mr. Glass came to find themselves confined.

Glass hits theaters on January 18, 2019.
