A journeyman streamer beat the two biggest Fortnite streamers on Twitch. Yoyokeepitup became an overnight sensation on Twitch when he soloed Ninja and Dakotaz during his stream on May 22.

But the 20-year-old streamer enjoyed a renewed wave of fame on Reddit when he posted an edited video of his victory spliced with clips from Ninja’s stream on the Fortnite: Battle Royale subreddit. Without hours, the thread quickly climbed the front page of the sub.

Early in the video, Yoyokeepitup’s duo mate gets ambushed, leaving him to fend for himself. Yoyokeepitup turtles up inside a cave, then kills an intruder with a rocket after baiting out a wall build. Then moments later, winged red player swoops over the cave and Yoyokeepitup’s partner tells him the terrible news.

“Dude, it’s Ninja!” he says. “Ninja’s in your game, dude. That’s Ninja.”

“Oh my God,” Yoyokeepitup says. “No, no, no, no, no.”

Ninja spots Yoyokeepitup inside, and starts firing. Yoyokeepitup frantically erects walls to cover his retreat as he backpedals deeper into the cave.

“No!” Yoyokeepitup howls. “Get away from me, boy!”

I won’t spoil the specific details, but it’s a riveting game, and an impressive victory. Despite Yoyokeepitup constantly mentioning our nervous he is, he maintained a cool head, was patient with his poking, and made smart plans.

But beating the two mega streamers was only half of the highlight. After soloing Ninja (who he was terrified of) and Dakotaz (“Oh my God, Dakotaz? This is a free kill, dude, come on now.”), Yoyokeepitup had to finish off the rest of the players to seize the number one spot, with Ninja and Dakotaz spectating him and handing out compliments.

“This guy’s gonna definitely clutch this,” Ninja said. “I mean, dude, we just got owned by this guy, dude. Like, why is someone who could build this well, dude, just chilling in the bottom of a base in a normal duo?”

Not a bad night for a new streamer.
