‘Krypton’ Season 2 Teaser Is Already Here

SyFy wasted little time to begin teasing Krypton Season 2. Fans of the show who have finished watching the season finale can rest assured that more of the show is coming.

Krypton Season 1 ended on Wednesday, with an announcement for Season 2 following the finale. A new teaser from SyFy prominently displayed the House of El Kryptonian family crest, most synonymous with Superman. Along with the iconic symbol was text that read, “The symbol you know is no more.” According to the teaser, the return of Krypton will arrive in 2019. In case a reminder of what happened at the end of Season 1 is needed, the finale final moments were made available on SyFy’s YouTube channel.

The prequel series to Superman, Krypton takes place 200 years prior to Kal-El being born and focuses on Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe), the superhero’s grandfather. Other characters who appear in the show include Doomsday, Brainiac, Adam Strange, and the family of the General Dru-Zod from the House of Zod.

Critics of the first season of Krypton weren’t completely sold on a Superman prequel series. The show has a 60 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes from reviewers. On the other hand, the series appears to be winning over fans, who gave the series an 80 percent Rotten Tomato Audience Score.

With Krypton Season 1 over, fans of the show can now try to wrap their head around a new General Zod, and what that means for Seg and the doomed future of the planet. Those interested in rewatching the series can catch it again on SyFy On Demand.

As a precursor to the birth of Superman, Krypton made retconned some parts of the superhero’s mythology. There are also a few Easter eggs scattered in the show for those comic book fans who pay close attention to the show.
