'Fortnite' Purple Lightning Bolt: How to Find the 'Center of the Storm'

Hurry before everyone else shows up.

Week 4 challenges for Fortnite: Battle Royale leaked last week, and one challenge requires players to go to the center of the storm, which was made easier thanks to a small addition added by Epic Games.

To compete the Season 4 Week 4 challenge, “visit the center of different Storm Circles in a match,” players will have to get right in the middle of the action since the center of the storm is where everyone heads to during a match of Fortnite: Battle Royale. The problem is that the center of the storm is hard to predict, but a new marking added to the game will help light the way. Players saw a brand new purple lighting bolt symbol within a column of purple light during matches on Tuesday acting as a waypoint to the center of the storm.

Players in a match who want to complete the challenge of finding the center of the storm should be on the look out for the purple icon. It becomes easier to find the further along in the match you are, but the faster a player can find it the less likely they will be surrounded by other competitors.

To complete the challenge, players need to head to the center of the storm three times. Their reward is five Battle Stars that will go towards their season level to unlock additional skins, emotes, and other in-game cosmetics. That is, if they player has a Season 4 Battle Pass.

Fortnite weekly challenges change every Tuesday. This week’s challenges were a little easier than normal so players should take advantage of the easy Battle Stars available.

Another Week 4 challenge has players searching between a bench, ice cream truck, and a helicopter. To find the hidden Battle Star, head south from the “T” in Moisty Mire.
