'Deadpool 2' Post-Credit Scene: Fan Reactions Could Change Marvel's Formula

It was long, but great.

Even though it’s not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Deadpool 2 easily competes with any of the Marvel movies when it comes to the end credits and movie viewers loved it.

This post contains big spoilers for Deadpool 2.

Deadpool 2’s post-credits scene is a long one involving Deadpool using Cable’s time-travel device to fix a “slip-ups” in the past. This includes saving Vanessa and his “sugar bear” Peter W. Deadpool also goes meta by killing “himself” in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and then killing Ryan Reynolds who received the Green Lantern script. Fans of the movie went to Twitter and Facebook to react with joy about the post-credits scene.

On Twitter, Mike Carr from esports team Optic Gaming tweeted, “Best marvel end credits by far.”

A similar sentiment was shared by Twitter user @NTNN_7 who tweeted, “Deadpool 2 is so great. Funnier than the first one and so many amazing fan service moments. Oh and officially the greatest end credits scene ever.”

Matt Neglia from the Next Best Picture podcast kept it simp and declared the end credits scene the “best ever.”

On the movie subreddit, the official Deadpool 2 thread contained a vast amount of praise for the movie and the post-credits scene. One Reddit user said, “Deadpool going back in time to kill X-Men Origins Deadpool and Ryan Reynolds is seriously one of the loudest laughs I’ve had in a theater!” Another Reddit user added, “That Green Lantern bit at the end had the whole theater cheering.”

Deadpool 2 already broke a record on Friday for taking in $50.4 million on its opening day. It could have enough steam to overtake Avengers: Infinity War for the box office top spot.

With plenty of fan service and meta jokes, there’s one particular cameo in Deadpool 2 that was one of the biggest surprises of the movie, and it actually wasn’t hard for the director to get the certain celebrity to appear in the movie.
