Phase Four here we come.

As Avengers: Infinity War continues to dominate the box office, some fans wonder what is the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Avengers 4. The one person who knows for sure if MCU mastermind Kevin Feige who said Ms. Marvel is coming.

During an interview shown on the BBC, the Marvel Studios president was asked if Kamala Khan, better known as Ms. Marvel, would be considered for a movie. Feige confirmed that there are plans to introduce the Muslim superhero after the studio finishes work on Captain Marvel which stars Brie Larson.

“We’re doing Captain Marvel right now,” he said. “Ms. Marvel, the Muslim hero inspired by Captain Marvel, is definitely, sort of, in the works. We have plans for that once we’ve introduced Captain Marvel to the world.”

The Ms. Marvel comic with Kamala as the new title character started in February 2014 to high praise from comic book readers. She’s a Pakistani-American from Jersey City, New Jersey, who had her superpowers activated thanks to a Terrigen Mist, which triggers the dormant inhuman gene in humans. Inspired by Captain Marvel, Kamala took the name Ms. Marvel and was part of the Avengers for a time, but left to form the younger superhero group, the Champions.

With the revelation of Ms. Marvel coming to the MCU, the question comes in what form. Does she get her own movie or does she come as part of a supergroup movie? Fans will have to wait until the start of the MCU’s Phase Four, which comes after the release of Captain Marvel and Avengers 4 in 2019.

As for the Captain Marvel movie, news came out last week that Annette Bening would join the cast. It’s unclear what role she played, but the signs point to her playing the mother of Carol Danvers.
