Rick and Morty Never Looked More Badass Than This Run the Jewels Video

Also, "Oh Mama" is a dope song.

If you just know Adult Swim for hit shows like Tim and Eric, Venture Bros, and, of course, Rick and Morty, you haven’t been listening carefully. The network has a long musical history, having released a bevy of great new songs from musicians like Run the Jewels, Wavves, and smaller emerging artists via its Singles series. On Friday, Adult Swim announced its first ever music festival, and accompanied the news with a music video that combined the headlining act, Run the Jewels, with Rick and Morty at their most cool.

The video, for the track “Oh Mama” off of the album Run the Jewels 3, follows an especially slick-looking Rick and Morty on a mission to collect from a powerful Gromflamites. The pair are wearing suits and shades, and they’re packing a lot of heat that they aren’t afraid to use. Unflinching violence and cool posturing is par for the course when it comes to Rick, but Morty has never been this badass in the show. If you watch until the end of the video, it turns out there’s a reason for Morty’s intensity, but we won’t spoil it before you get a chance to listen to “Oh Mama” from start to finish, because RTJ are a good group.

This is actually Rick and Morty’s second musical this month. The rapper Logic dropped a new mixtape on March 9, and accompanied the release with a video of Rick and Morty raving (and arguing) about his music.

Rick and Morty’s next season won’t premiere for a while, but the Adult Swim Festival isn’t that far off, all things considered. The even will take place on October 6 and 7 in Downtown Los Angeles. Here’s how the network described the even in a press release:

A cultural festival like no other, the weekend will feature all things Adult Swim across two stages with a massive marketplace that will include premiere screenings, comedy performances, interactive gaming, exclusive merchandise, and a live music line-up headlined by Grammy-nominated hip-hop powerhouse, Run The Jewels.

A limited amount of early and discounted weekend passes are on sale now.
