New 'Infinity War' Trailer Keeps Marvel's Biggest Secret

Destiny still arrives, and somehow we still have no idea where the Soul Stone is.

Marvel released a new trailer for Avengers: Infinity War on Friday, and in it, the many heroes of the MCU assemble on Earth to defend against Thanos, that purple guy who wants to “wipe out half the universe.”

This comes just a few days after directors Joe and Anthony Russo teased a new trailer on Twitter. This might be the final full trailer we get before release next month. In it, we get a glimpse of the many heroes forging unlikely alliances and coming together to defend Wakanda — and Earth itself — against Thanos.

We start to see the many disparate teams emerging, and finally even get to see a meeting between the Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers other than Thor. But as much new footage as we get, tons of questions remain unanswered.

T'Challa leads the defense of Wakanda's capital city against Thanos's armies, with tons of heroes at his back.

The trailer is packed with tons of new footage from the movie, including what looks like an extended conversation between Tony Stark and Gamora which explains Thanos’s motives: He wants to wipe out half the galaxy, and wielding a full Infinity Gauntlet would let him do just that in an instant.

Ever the brilliant tactician, Stark realizes that they have an advantage in that Thanos has to come to them. So the big plan seems to be that Earth’s mightiest heroes will congregate on Wakanda as the most defensible position. Several of the Infinity Stones are accounted for, and Thanos definitely gets two of them. But the good guys have at least two of them already in the possession of heroes like Doctor Strange and Vision.

So maybe they stand a decent chance at pulling this thing off, but they seriously need to get to work finding that Soul Stone to have any hope of standing a chance.

Avengers: Infinity War will be released in theaters on April 27.
