'Last Jedi' Shirtless Kylo Ren Meme Has Conquered the Internet

If you haven’t seen Star Wars: The Last Jedi by now but you’ve still been skulking around the internet, you’ve probably seen some skin.

This post contains gratuitous spoilers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Read on at your own risk.

Despite all the twists and turns in The Last Jedi, shirtless Kylo Ren has been by far the film’s most-memed topic. Forget Master Yoda’s return and subsequent destruction of the Jedi religion, Luke Skywalker’s controversial finale, and Rey and Kylo’s epic, slow-motion team-up.

Shirtless Kylo wins.

While heading into your screening for The Last Jedi, the last thing you probably expected to see was a half-naked Kylo Ren uncomfortably standing around and telling Rey that she should join him. But that’s exactly what you got.

In his attempts to lure Rey to the Dark side, Supreme Leader Snoke creates a Force bond between her and his apprentice. Kylo and Rey’s minds connect several times throughout the film and, in one instance, Rey “walks in” on Kylo wearing nothing but high-waisted black pants. The moment, which only adds to the “forbidden” nature of Kylo and Rey’s relationship, is played up for sexual tension. And it works, if audiences’ reactions to shirtless Kylo are anything to go off of.

Of course, Snoke manipulating Kylo’s mind without his knowledge seems to be the final nail in Snoke’s coffin. When Snoke reveals to Rey that he’d forged the connection, Kylo looks up sharply from where he’s bowed before his master; a fleeting look of betrayal crosses his face before his expression sinks back into something more controlled. It seems Kylo might not have been too happy about his master manipulating him and invading his privacy.

The internet sure enjoyed that invasion of privacy, though.
