Ten-hut, Carol Corps! Captain Marvel, one of the strongest heroes yet to debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will be appearing in the still-untitled Avengers 4, the direct sequel to Avengers: Infinity War that will be released in theaters next May.

What Happened:

In a tweet posted on Monday, from the popular Atlanta film paparazzo @AtlantaFilming, Larson was spotted on the set of Avengers 4, which commenced production after Avengers: Infinity War wrapped in July. While @AtlantaFilming offers no photographic evidence — the user said they were “out of town” in a later tweet — the account is known for following film and TV productions in and around Atlanta.

The tweet, posted in the early morning, read: “Hi… #BrieLarson :) (And #ChrisEvans…) Like Chris is an after thought when Brie is here.”

What It Means

For months, the internet has speculated whether or not Brie Larson will make her first appearance in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War or in her titular 2019 film, Captain Marvel. Now it seems definitive that Larson will star in Captain Marvel before joining the rest of the Avengers in the fight against Thanos.

It also seems Captain Marvel will make quite the impact once she appears. Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 6, 2019, just a short two montsh before Avengers 4, which will be released on May 2019. That can only mean Captain Marvel will be a necessary bridge to the true finale of Marvel’s Phase Three.

What’s Next:

Captain Marvel will hit theaters on March 6, 2019, with Avengers 4* following shortly after on May 3, 2019.
